A Coda Audio PA System Was Specified for One of The Zone's Main Stages

Ukraine-As has become the norm in recent years, for the many thousands of fans wanting to get into the matches at the UEFA Euro 2012 Championship but unable to get tickets for the stadiums, the authorities in host countries Poland and Ukraine provided a number of Fanzones, one of which was in the Ukrainian city of Lviv.As well as giant screen relays of the matches, the Fanzones laid on a wide variety of entertainment. With good quality audio a prerequisite for such an event,a Coda Audio PA system was specified for one of the zone's main stages.

Located on Svobody Avenue,by the city's opera house, the 30,375m2,free-to-enter Lviv Fanzone was open for 10 hours a day throughout Euro 2012 and relayed all the matches. When matches weren't in progress, other entertainment included live music and DJ sets, while the space was also utilised for three of the city's annual cultural festivals.

One of Ukraine's premier technical production companies,ArtMax Engineering, supplied the technical infrastructure for the Fanzone. The company first invested in Coda systems back in 2002 and has used them for a range of international artists including Sting, the Chemical Brothers, the Scorpions,Stanley Clarke and Motor head.

"We used six Airline LA12 per side at the Fanzone, which have provided plenty of volume and covered the area very well,"says ArtMax's Daniel Hukov.

A three-way symmetrical high output line array system, the LA12 is designed for large venues where high fidelity sound and outstanding intelligibility is required.

"Our client was very happy with the sound of the system,"says Hukov."The Fanzone became a real focal point of the city during Euro 2012 and the Coda system played a big part in making it such a success."
