Think of 24, 889 Odyssey Vehicles in US

Japanese carmaker Honda Motor will recall 24,889 units of its Odyssey vehicles in the US due to an issue with airbag systems.

All the vehicles included in the recall are 2014 model Odyssey vehicles, which are said to be equipped with a defective electrical component called shorting coupler in the side curtain airbag system.

According to the company, the electrical coupler's shorting terminal that prevents deployment of the airbag may have been damaged before being assembled into the vehicle.

The damaged shorting terminal is liable to illuminate the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) indicator and also fail to deploy the side curtain airbag during a crash.

Honda has claimed that no crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through warranty repairs.

The carmaker is planning to notify its customers about the recall through mail starting from 16 May 2014.
