Tridonic's Optimised TALEXXengine STARK SLE LED System Is Intended for LED Downlights

Tridonic's optimised TALEXXengine STARK SLE LED system is intended for LED downlights and spotlights used in professional general lighting applications.  Compared with previous-generation products, it boasts 40 % more light output and a longer service life of up to 50,000 hours.

Even at the end of its service life, luminous flux remains at 80 % of its initial level.  Because of its high efficiency, this LED system makes it possible to obtain considerable savings in energy consumption – with great lighting quality.

The latest-generation TALEXXengine STARK SLE LED system still consists of a matched LED module and LED converter. LED modules are available in CLASSIC and SELECT versions with a colour rendering index (CRI) in excess of 80 or 90, and in a PREMIUM version which also has a colour rendering index of more than 90 as well as additional dimming and control capabilities.

The 40 % higher light output means more lumens per watt: 145 lm/W in the case of the LED module and up to 115 lm/W in the case of the system. This results in equivalent brightness with lower energy consumption or greater brightness with equivalent energy consumption. The great efficiency of the LED system has an additional benefit: power losses are lower and luminaires can be designed more compactly than was previously possible.

Depending on the desired operating mode – high efficiency or high output –, the users choose the appropriate TALEXXconverter which is available as a surface-mounted or recessed version with various interfaces to the control system: DALI, switchDIM and colourSWITCH.

Another benefit of the optimised TALEXXengine STARK SLE LED system is better lighting quality with very tight colour tolerances equivalent to McAdam 3 and therefore barely perceptible drift. This provides reproducible white light which is available in various, standardised colour temperatures: 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 K, a special "gold" colour for baked goods and a special "meat" colour for meat. White light always appears uniform, even at narrow radiation angles. The PREMIUM version can produce freely controllable and dimmable white light (Tunable White) along the Planckian curve from 2,700 to 6,500 K.

The LED system meets the luminaire industry's electrical, mechanical, optical and thermal standards and is easy to wire thanks to integral terminals on the LED module. The manufacturer's five-year system guarantee ensures high levels of reliability.
