Trinity Leeds has revealed its spectacular new LED ceiling spotlight display for the very first time.
The sweeping glass dome roof that dominates the three-storey shopping quarter has been lit up by a total of 918 energy-efficient LED light bulbs, which has helped bring dazzling colour and beauty to Leeds city centre's skyline.
Full colour spectrum LED bulbs were switched on in order to examine the lights' capabilities and test the 40 settings that can be re-programmed to create different shapes and auroras to enjoy when late night shopping in Trinity Leeds.
Opening its doors fully for the first time on March 21st, the shopping centre is innovatively designed to be an extension of Leeds' best known outdoor shopping streets.
Trinity Leeds development director Andrew Dudley predicted that by Christmas next year, the shopping centre will have attracted up to 25 million consumers.
It is hoped that this lighting system, which creates a dramatic space for over 100 new shops and 20 new restaurants, cafes and bars, will sufficiently wow shoppers to convince them to return.
"Switching on the roof lights for the very first time and seeing the beaming spectrum of colours was magnificent. It lights the way for Trinity Leeds, which opens its doors on 21st March and is set to become the next generation of shopping centres, bringing leisure and lifestyle to the heart of the city," the expert was quoted as saying.
This system is not dissimilar to the one that was recently implemented into the roof at Heathrow airport's Terminal 4, which had LED lights installed into the ceiling. The system was included to mimic the natural changes of light outside.
Much like the Leeds Trinity project, these were installed in order to improve overall customer satisfaction among people waiting for flights at the airport.
