Japanese automaker Toyota Motor is set to unveil its latest hydrogen-powered fuel-cell vehicle (FCV) and four other world-premiere concepts at Tokyo Motor Show in Japan.
Expected to be introduced by 2015, the new FCV Concept vehicle Toyota can accommodate up to four occupants and has a driving range of atleast 500km.
It is equipped with the company's small, lightweight fuel-cell stack with a power density of 3kW per liter and two 70MPa high-pressure hydrogen tanks. The system also features Toyota's high-efficiency boost converter.
Exterior of the vehicle features key characteristics that convert air into water as the system produces electricity and acceleration enabled by the electric drive motor.
The car front view features pronounced air intakes while the side view features a flowing liquid door profile and wave-motif fuel cap.
Other new vehicles to be unveiled at the show, which are targeted at Japanese market, are a next-generation taxi concept and two next-generation seven-seat minivans, one petrol and one hybrid car.
