According to report of the Latin American steel association (Alacero), the apparent consumption of finished steel products in Latin American and Caribbean totaled 33.1 million tons in the first half of this year, remaining flat from the figures in the same period of a year ago. In the first half of this year, the region’s finished steel production totaled 27.7 million tons, down slightly by 1% year on year.
