Driven by firm steel prices in the Taiwanese domestic market, most of Taiwanese electric furnace (EF) mills’ third quarter sales have stayed firmly. Tung Ho Steel, the major rebar and H beam makers in northern Taiwan has reported that its third-quarter after tax sales profits totaled NT$509 million, higher than NT$505 million in the second quarter. Feng Hsin, the major rebar and sections makers in central Taiwan that said its third-quarter gross profit rate has increased to 7.06% from 6.35% in the second quarter. Hai Kwang, one f of the major rebar mills in southern Taiwan said that the company's loss has narrowed down and it has reported loss of NT$33.74 million for the third quarter, rising by 50% from the second quarter.
