India-based automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has secured a passenger vehicles supply order from the Siddhi Vinayak Logistic's (SVLL) transport division Connect.
Under the deal, which is SVLL Connect's single largest in the personal passenger carrier segment, Tata Motors will deliver 2,000 passenger vehicles over a period of one year.
The order will include Tata Motors' luxury sedan, Manza, Indigo eCS, with a majority of the new Aria utility vehicles, all of which will be used to offer services on the inter-city routes.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Business president Ranjit Yadav said this is a single largest order won, despite stiff competition from global and local manufacturers.
"The order underlines the strong relationship that Tata Motors and SVLL Connect have developed over the years, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them," Yadav added.
Tata Motors plans to start delivery of the ordered vehicles from May 2014.
SVLL Connect director Deepak Baid said with the order the company is keen to cater the demand from large families, corporates and individual travelers.
"The rapidly growing long-haul personal transportation space has a specific demand for spacious, comfortable vehicles and Tata Motors passenger vehicles provide just that, coupled with reliability and overall performance," Baid added.
"With this order we are confident of providing the SVLL customer with an unparalleled service experience."
SVLL has a fleet size of 7635 vehicles in India. It currently has 250 loading points in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The company has 103 branch offices all over India with its registered office in Surat and corporate office in Navi Mumbai.
