Spring Air International has signed a license agreement with SBI Mattress Inc., based in Springfield, Ill., to make and market its Back Supporter and Sleep Sense bedding brands in Illinois.
Begun in 1975, SBI Mattress is a family-owned business that operates a 45,000-square-foot mattress factory and employs 37. To be known as Spring Air-Illinois, the company is headed by owner and President Michele Buyan. Joshua Patridge, Buyan's son, is plant manager while son-in-law Scott Meyers is vice president of marketing and sales.
"This is the first Illinois-based Spring Air licensee to serve the state exclusively since the former Spring Air Co. became Spring Air International in 2009," said Rick Robinson, Spring Air president. "We're very pleased with the opportunity to centralize and increase our coverage in Illinois by adding a manufacturer that has a great reputation for quality and a business base that includes retailers who have been loyal customers for nearly 40 years."
Spring Air-Illinois will begin producing Spring Air products in January and will be represented at the winter Las Vegas Market.
