Tokyo-based Teijin Frontier Co. Ltd. has introduced Solotex OO, a high-performance stretch fiber made using Teijin's Solotex polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) fiber for soft texture and stability, and Japan-based Asahi Kasei's Roica polyurethane fiber for elasticity. The fiber is targeted to the bottomwear market, and Teijin reports the blend is highly suited to tight-fitting designs.
High-level thermal insulation, ultraviolet shielding, absorbency, quick-drying properties and non-translucency are optional characteristics than can further add to the applications and markets suitable for Solotex OO.
