German automobile major BMW will launch its new luxury vehicle X1, which claims to offer more space for passengers and luggage, in October.
While the height of the new variant has been increased by 53mm from its predecessor, the seating position has been altered to 36mm at the front and 64mm at the rear. This has resulted in an expanded road view for the driver.
Moreover, the knee room in the rear has been raised by 37mm in the standard setup that can be adjusted by up to 66mm.
The 40:20:40 rear-seat backrest can be folded to allow more load capacity up to 1,550 liters. The backrest of folding front passenger and rear seat bench is capable of sliding 13cm.
Armed with four-cylinders, the engines of the new model also lead to a reduction of fuel consumption and emissions by up to 17%. The 505-liter boot capacity has also been rendered 85 liters larger.
The specification for fuel consumption for second-generation BMW X1 is 6.4-4.1 litres/100 km, combined with CO2 emissions at 149-109 g/km.
The BMW X1 also has air conditioning and audio system with USB and AUX-in and iDrive operating system with a 6.5-inch display.
Moreover, the new variant flaunts an xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system which has a multi-plate clutch controlled electro-hydraulically for distributing drive between the front and rear axle.
