KooGa,the Queensland,Australia-based apparel manufacturing company,is planning to set up a production unit in Lautoka,the second-largest city in Fiji.
Mr.Kim Brant,chief executive of KooGa Australia,said Fiji is a good platform for the apparel brand to grow further and he is confident that skilled Fijians will join the KooGa family,according to Fiji Sun.
He said that he met Fiji officials to discuss further on setting up an apparel manufacturing unit in Fiji and the Fijian Government is providing several opportunities for companies like us to invest in the country.
Mr.Brant further said that initially the company will invest US$1.5 million and it will employ several people from Fiji,especially the hardworking women.He also said the workers will be paid good salary because the company would be happy to see their employees satisfied.
KooGa Australia is an international apparel brand and it manufactures sportswear for many international teams including Fiji Rugby,Qantas Wallabies,the Western Bulldogs,Melbourne Storm,the Queensland Reds,the ACT Brumbies,the Richmond Tigers,the Western Force and the NRL.
The company exports apparels to many countries including Fiji,New Zealand,France,Canada,USA,UK,Japan and Italy.
