Even though most of Taiwanese rebar mills hiked their prices slightly for this week, it seems the Taiwanese domestic buyers are not interested in mills’ new offers and prefer to wait for longer time. In this week, the rebar mills in the central and northern Taiwan have kept their new prices flat but southern Taiwan's mills have increased their new price by NT$150/ton, causing the new rebar price in the whole Taiwanese domestic market stay at the level of NT$17,400/ton. Normally, the rebar offer price in central and northern Taiwan should be NT$200/ton, higher than the prices in southern Taiwan. The current market situation finally caused the rebar transaction activity to temporary stop in Taiwan local market.
