Line Voltage Linear LED Engine one of first solutions on the market to receive UL1598C listing
LAS VEGAS,May 10,2012(BUSINESS WIRE)--At Lightfair International 2012 today,TerraLUX Inc.announced its award-winning Line Voltage Linear LED Engine and coordinating Retrofit Kit have received UL1598C Classification and are now shipping.
Recipient of the 2012 Product Innovation Award(PIA)from Architectural SSL magazine,the Line Voltage Linear LED Engine requires no rewiring,extra hardware or electronic driver,and it is the first LED lighting solution that can easily be retrofit to any existing fixture.In five minutes or less,the Line Voltage Linear LED Engine can be permanently installed,transforming any existing fixture into a more energy efficient unit without affecting the fixture's UL listing.

The Line Voltage Linear LED Engine is designed with a Smart Thermal Design and patented LEDSense(R)Thermal Foldback circuitry,allowing for installation in any sealed fixture.The IP-65 rated engine is suited for indoor and outdoor installations in wall sconces,recessed step lights and wall lights,ceiling surface mounted fixtures and outdoor wall packs.The unique design of the engine transfers heat emitted from the LEDs to the metallic housing of the fixture,with further protection from the LEDSense(R)circuitry.If the heat is too high,the LEDSense(R)will protect the LEDs by lowering the power until a safe temperature is reached,preserving the lifespan of the LEDs.
The Line Voltage Linear LED Engine can be set for 120V compatible with phase dimming or 100-277V compatible with 1-10V dimming,and is available in three sizes--4,6 and 8 inches.The engine is highly efficient,achieving at least 50 lumens/watt with a mere 8-watt power consumption.Available in four-color temperatures,2700K,3000K,3500K and 4000K,the Line Voltage Linear LED Engine has a 5-year limited warranty.It is a UL Recognized Component for OEM Products and UL1598C LED Retrofit Classified for existing fixtures.For more information visit www.terralux.com.
