According to a well-known Russian state news agency, Iran is currently in serious discussion with Armenia to jointly develop the oil products pipeline with rail links as part of efforts advancing the economic cooperation ties between the two countries.
Armenia plans to inject US$100 million to support the pipeline construction on its territory while the Iran-Armenia railway will enable Armenia to use an alternative passage to ship the energy products and other commodities to external markets.
It is said the pipelines will deliver gasoline and diesel fuel from Iranian refineries and other Persian Gulf countries to the Armenian town of Yeraskh via Iran's Tabriz.
