Featuring even greater international participation and a number of innovations, CeMAT 2014 is set to reaffirm its status as the world's flagship intralogistics fair.
"There is no other comparable event anywhere else in the world," said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board, adding that CeMAT offers the industry "a platform where it can showcase its products in an internationally representative environment and attending professionals can network on all the latest trends." Gruchow reports that the CeMAT organizers are anticipating a further increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors from abroad in 2014.
Featuring more than 1,100 exhibiting firms, CeMAT 2014 will be staged from 19 to 23 May at Hannover Exhibition Center. "The intralogistics industry is highly innovative and global in nature, so it requires a flagship fair geared to worldwide market requirements and demand. CeMAT will provide an ideal global platform for generating new business. Its new topic clusters and expanded range of innovations will further enhance its status inside the intralogistics industry," commented Gruchow.
The keynote theme of CeMAT 2014 is "Smart – Integrated – Efficient", referring to the intelligent management of integrated logistics chains along the entire supply chain. "Intralogistics is an enabler of efficient logistics processes and relies increasingly on state-of-the-art information and communication technologies," explained Gruchow. "This requires safe, dependable technology, including complete systems and intralogistics products, as well as processors, operating elements, software, control systems and a great deal more. To a growing extent, intralogistics is about software and processes – which will become even more apparent at the upcoming CeMAT."
Following a successful partnership between CeMAT and the "transport logistic" show in Munich, the cooperation with Messe München is set to continue in Hannover next year. Logistics service providers will be featured in Hall 27. "For the first time ever, we will be showcasing the entire logistics supply chain at CeMAT – an attractive, added bonus for our visitors," reported Gruchow. Located within the Manage & Service display category, the transport logistic@CeMAT segment will be in close proximity to the Port Logistics display sector.
CeMAT 2014 will place added emphasis on a number of user-oriented topics like retail logistics, bulk goods, packaged goods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, hazardous goods and disposal. Production logistics solutions will likewise receive additional coverage. "These topics are geared to the needs of specific user industries. They give exhibitors new product presentation options, while alerting trade visitors to specific solution areas relevant to their industries," explained Gruchow.
The new special display entitled "Innovative Logistics Solutions" puts the spotlight on complex logistics processes in a production environment. Live demonstrations will depict the entire flow of material and information. The logistics chain will be broken down into five stages. The transport logistics part of the display will examine the logistics chain based on the example of shipping a container. Goods delivery and unloading equipment will focus on identifying goods and automated pallet unloading. The materials handling part will demonstrate how innovative warehouse technology can be used to position goods quickly, flexibly and efficiently. This will be rounded out by displays featuring the picking and packing of small parts, plus loading equipment and technology.
CeMAT – the world's leading trade fair for intralogistics – is staged in Hannover, Germany. The next CeMAT will be held from 19 to 23 May 2014, and thereafter every two years – a new cycle for the formerly triennial event. The most recent CeMAT (in 2011) featured more than 1,000 exhibitors from 39 nations, attracting some 53,500 trade visitors from around the world. Half of the exhibitors and a third of the visitors came from outside of Germany.
CeMAT is now so important to the international logistics industry that its organizer, Deutsche Messe, has exported the concept to four of the world's fastest-growing markets: CeMAT ASIA (28 to 31 October 2013 in Shanghai), CeMAT INDIA (17 to 20 December 2013 in Delhi), CeMAT RUSSIA (23 to 26 September 2014 in Moscow), and CeMAT SOUTH AMERICA (30 June to 3 July 2015 in Sao Paulo). Deutsche Messe also stages two thematically related events: MATERIALS HANDLING EURASIA (19 to 22 March 2014 in Istanbul) and INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA (19 to 23 May 2015 in Milan).
