Taipei, Dec. 12, 2012 (CENS)--Thanks to robust shipment of laptops and notebook PCs, the Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc., one of the world’s top five PC brand vendors by market shares, posted NT$39.6 billion in non-combined revenue for November, up 11.5% from a month ago, according to the company’s latest financial statement.
For the first three quarters, the company’s combined revenue totaled NT$323.5 billion, very close to NT$327.9 billion posted by Acer Inc., Asustek’s major Taiwanese counterpart.
In November, Asustek shipped more than 1.8 million notebook PCs along with over 1 million tablet models. Hopefully, institutional investors said, the company’s combined revenue for the month, which has yet been publicized, will hit NT$43 billion.
Asustek’s banner November revenue exceeds that of Acer and HTC Corp., smartphone suppliers, as Taiwan’s No.1 brand vendor among electronics companies.
Institutional investors forecast that the company’s combined revenue for the fourth quarter to grow 5% over the third quarter, with shipment of laptops and tablet PCs to total 6 million units and 2.6 million units, respectively. Also Asustek’s VivoBook, a touchscreen laptop running on Windows 8, presently commands over half of the global market for such devices.
In addition and benefiting partly from Asustek’s performance, Pegatron Corp., a spin-off of the foremr’s contract manufacturing department, reported the second-highest combined revenue of NT$81.778 billion among Taiwanese contract electronics manufacturers in November, only next to Quanta Computer Inc. with NT$86.048 billion.
