The Australian dollar was half a US cent lower despite Wall Street stock markets making solid gains overnight, with the Dow Jones Index reaching fresh record highs.
At 6.30am AEDT the local unit was trading at 102.38 US cents, down from 102.84 cents at yesterday’s local close.
