Hanson Glass Factory Begins to Reproduction in Ethiopia

(China Glass Network)  Recently, Hanson Glass Factory, which is invested by CGC Overseas Construction Co., Ltd and China-Africa Development Fund, begins to reproduction in Ethiopia. The general manager of Hansom Glass Xiao Yong said, impacted by global economic crisis and the rising fuel prices and other factors, Hansom had to shut down production in early 2010.in order to reduce the fuel costs, Hansom began a series of technological upgrading on the original production line on April, 2011. The capacity was reduced from original more than 40000 tons to 20000 tons. After reproduction, the glass factory can provide local 150 long-term employment opportunities and 30 short-term employment opportunities for Ethiopia. He also said, Hansom adopted the same technology as the China mainland. So there is no worry about quality. In addition, in order to meet the needs of market, Hansom will produce brown flat glass, blue flat glass and green flat glass besides clear glass. Then the customer can have more choices.

Ethiopian Hansom Glass Factory is the first project invested by China-Africa Fund after its foundation. This project started construction on 2007, and completed on March, 2009.  In early August, 2012, the overall technological upgrading work was finished and began to production again.
