The Availability of Its OnLane Lane Departure Warning System on Evolution Trucks

Meritor Wabco has announced the availability of its OnLane lane departure warning system on Freightliner Cascadia and Cascadia c.

The system - powered by SafeTrak technology from Takata - is a forward-looking, vision-based lane departure warning system designed to monitor road markings and the vehicle's position within the lane. It delivers audible warnings to the driver when the vehicle is straying from its lane without the signal lights activated.

It also features a driver alertness warning (DAW) function, which detects erratic or degraded driving based on lane weaving and then provides a warning to the driver.

"As the market leader in collision mitigation systems in North America, Meritor Wabco's OnLane helps improve safe driving, particularly when used as part of an overall integrated safety system," said Carsten Duevell, senior director, Vehicle Control Systems, Meritor Wabco.

OnLane is a one-box system that combines a camera and electronics. It can be connected to a fleet telematics system to provide fleet managers with vehicle alert notices and is available as a retrofit or factory-installed on new vehicles.
