The US Rig Count Declined by 4 to 1,739, Compared to a 13-Rig Increase The Previous Week

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending October 18, the US rig count declined by 4 to 1,739, compared to a 13-rig increase the previous week.? The rig count was down by 100 from 1,839 rigs during the same week a year ago.? The oil rig count decreased by six to 1,361 whereas the gas rig count increased by three to 372.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 31 in the week ending October 18 to reach 388, following a four-rig decrease the week before.? As such, the Canadian rig count was up 33 from 355 rigs during the same week a year ago.
