Baosteel's oxide ore dressing relocation & Bayan Obo ore resources utilization project is progressing well and the iron selection block will into operation this year.
By then, the company will form the country's largest rare earth concentrate production line to end the situation that China has been dependent on ferro-niobium imports from Brazil.
The project has a total investment of CNY 3.15 billion and the construction period is two years. The project can process 6 million tons of oxide ores, produce 1.8882 million iron ore concentrates, and re-dress 250,000 tons of rare earth concentrates, 56,200 tons of niobium ores, 1.6796 million of scandium-rich raw materials, 37,600 tons of sulfur ores and 400,900 tons of fluorite ores annually.
