Richard Thomas was literally born into the entertainment industry as Mr.Thomas is the nephew of Robert McFerrin and the cousin of 10 time Grammy winner Bobby McFerrin.Mr.Robert McFerrin whom Richard would later manage was the first African-American to sign with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.Mr.McFerrin went on to an illustrious career that included working in Hollywood with the great Otto Preminger on the movie Porgy and Bess,where he sang the role of Porgy while Academy award winner Sidney Poitier lip-synched the words.Being Mr.McFerrin's nephew allowed Richard to grow up in a world others could only dream of.Richard has learned from people such as Gary Morton while being on the television set for"Here's Lucy"that starred the great Lucille Ball.Also studying under Norman Lear while being on the set of"All In The Family"starring Hollywood's Carroll O'Conner.Mr.Thomas has been a part of several television and movie productions.Currently Mr.Thomas is serving as Executive Producer for the new upcoming television show"Laughter In Da Lou".The show is slated to be shown worldwide in over 80 countries and across 4 continents.
Richard as the CEO of Major Moves Music Group LLC.runs and operates three divisions.1.Major Moves Management 2.Major Moves Records 3.Thomas Publishing.Before creating the company Richard grew and flourished while taking over the reigns of managing his uncle,Robert McFerrin's career.Through this experience he knew that he could manage entertainers on any level.Major Moves Music Group has managed some very talented people such as 1.Producer Carl Borden from the camp of the late Gerald Levert(Atlantic Records).Carl is working with Dave Tolliver of the world wide known music group Men At Large.2.Producer/Actor Ricardo"Cardo"Collins from Chaka Khan's company Vertex Records/Earth Song Entertainment.Cardo has appeared in movies and television shows.TV shows such as Criminal Minds and NCIS both on CBS,movies such as Starsky&Hutch and Soul Food.3.Music artist Rook who has had several hit songs,including Back For Da Tip where Geffen Records artist Jibbs was featured in the music video that was executive produced by Mr.Thomas.Rook has committed to sign a deal with Hip Hop legend and pioneer Kurtis Blow 4.Songwriter/Artist Titus Ramiz who has written for several major label artist such as Sean"Diddy"Combs group Day 26.5.Brenda McFerrin,Brenda spent several years with Berry Gordy's Motown Records and has sung on numerous artist songs.Including Willie Nelson's On The Road Again.These are just a few of the people that Mr.Thomas has managed and worked with.
Richard is also business partners with Eban Brown the lead singer for the legendary world renown music group The Stylistics.Richard and Eban have projects that are being developed and will be launched in the near future.
