The Steel Market in Europe Continues to Face Downturn

Reportedly, the steel market in Europe continues to face downturn.

As 2012 is coming to an end, the buyers are extremely reluctant to place orders but steel mills are hiking prices, hoping to get better results at the reopening in January.

Local German steelmakers are trying to increase prices but with very little success.

Market in Italy is waiting for the release of the nearly 150,000 tons of Ilva material which should happen this week, as a result of the new government Decree.

Russian Mills are raising hot rolled coil prices up to€440/ton for January production, February delivery on FOB Black Sea basis but have no orders so far.
