Turkey exported 514,405 tons of wire rods in the first half of this year, falling by 15.8% year on year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the given period of time, the country’s export revenues generated by wire rods totaled US$312 million, decreasing by 21.9% year on year.
In the second quarter, Turkey’s wire rod exports were at 217,847 tons, decreasing by 26.8% from a quarter ago and slumping by 30.9% year on year.
In June alone, Turkey’s export prices of wire rods averaged at US$595/ton, decreasing by US$11/ton from a month ago and falling from US$648/ton in the same period of 2012.
