The 19th Round of China-US Investment Treaty Negotiations was held in Beijing on June 8-12. During this round of negotiations, both sides first exchanged the bid of negative list and officially launched its negotiations, marking a new negotiations’ stage.
The China-US Investment Negotiations was launched in 2008 and 19 rounds of negotiations have been conducted so far. In July 2013, both sides agreed to conduct the substantive negotiations with the mode of “the post-establishment national treatment and the negative list”. Both sides regard the China-US Investment Treaty Negotiations as the most important issue in the bilateral trade and economic relationship and are willing to input all necessary resources into the investment in order to reach a win-win and high-level investment treaty.
