The 2015 UK-Central China Investment Promotion Conference Held in Wuhan

On May 19, 2015, the UK-Central China Investment Promotion Conference was held in Wuhan. As one of the thematic activities of the 9th Central China Expo, the conference was sponsored by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce and China-Britain Business Council jointly. The conference was attended by about 100 representatives of commercial departments of provinces and cities of Central China, investment promotion organizations, the Central China Parks and the delegation of the China-Britain Business Council.

Following the country’s requirements to speed up the construction of the open economic system under the “new normal”, and on the basis of the strategic deployments of the Rise of Central China, the Liberalization and Development of the Yangtze River Economic Zone and the Development Plan of the Urban Cities agglomeration of Middle Reaches of Yangtze River, the conference aimed at promoting the face-to-face communication and docking between the local and park areas, the enterprises of Central China, and the British enterprise, it also aimed at enhancing the cooperation level of China-Britain investment promotion.

The vice president of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce Wang Xu, the chief executive of the China-Britain Business Council Stephen Phillips, the deputy director of the Port Office of the People’s Government of Hubei Province Yang Qingsong, and the consul general of the British Consulate General to Wuhan Nick Whittingham attended the meeting and made speeches. The president of the China District of BP Yang hengming, the senior manager of Savills China Zou Yinglong and the depurty director of the Commercial Department of Wuhan Wujiashan Economic and Technological Development zone Xu Lichun shared their experience and analysis on transnational investment and investment promotion. During the dialogue, the national economic development zones and investment promotion agencies of Central China and the British enterprises representatives had in-depth discussion and communication on the investment environment, key industries of Chinese provinces and China-Britain cooperative opportunities and modes.
