Border Protection Service Decided to Apply an Antidumping Duty for Hot Rolled Coil Imports

Steel Orbis reported that the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has announced that it has decided to apply an antidumping duty for hot rolled coil imports from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The Customs and Border Protection Service has found that the HRC imports from the abovementioned countries caused material injury to the domestic industry and continued dumping may cause further material injury. The dumping margins calculated range between 2.6 percent and 15.45%.

The antidumping investigation was initiated in June 2012, upon the application by BlueScope Steel Limited and BlueScope Steel (AIS) Pty. Ltd. (BlueScope), the sole manufacturer of hot rolled coil steel in Australia.
