The Vice-Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products Shi Yonghong was invited to the embassy of the Republic of Congo and to meet with the Ambassador Danniel Owassm and the Minister-counsellor Nyanga on July 24, 2015.
Vice-Chairman Shi introduced the basic situation and the members of the CCCME. Shi said that at present the main functions of the CCCME include carrying out the information and legal service, organizing enterprises to participate in the trade promotion activities and commodity exhibitions and providing service for members to invest overseas. Shi hoped that a closer cooperation can be carried out with the embassy of the Republic of Congo in the fields such as the information communication, the contacts between trade and economic groups, the organization of commercial activities, the commodity exhibitions and the investment promotion of significant projects in the future.
Ambassador Owassm expressed welcome to the visit of Vice-Chairman Shi. He said that in the recent years, the high level exchanges between China and the Republic of Congo are frequent; the development of the bilateral relationship enjoys a favorable momentum, the trade and economic exchanges are increasingly frequent and the cooperation projects in the fields such as trade and investment continuously increase. China has become the biggest trading partner to the Republic of Congo and the cooperation between the two countries is promising. Owassm emphasized that at present, the Republic of Congo is planning to build the four economic special zones, Pointe Noire , Brazzaville, Oyo-Ollombo and Ouesso, among which the feasibility studies of the special zone of Oyo-Ollombo has been completed and that of Pointe Noire is still undergoing. He hoped that the CCCME can be regarded as a platform to attract Chinese enterprises to go to the economic special zones of the Republic of Congo to invest and build factories. Owassm said that he is willing to establish the working contact mechanism with the CCCME to strengthen the cooperation in the fields of investment promotion and information communication of both sides.
