New Hampshire has become the latest state to adopt a law that prohibits commercial drivers from sending text messages from behind the wheel, the Associated Press reported.
Effective Jan. 1, drivers caught texting while operating a moving commercial vehicle could have their license suspended, AP reported. More changes to the state's commercial vehicle rules are designed to maintain New Hampshire's eligibility for federal safety funds, AP said.
The state adopted a ban on texting while drivers for noncommercial drivers in 2010.
