Textile Firms in The Mexican State of Puebla Need to Increase Competitiveness

Textile firms in the Mexican state of Puebla need to increase competitiveness and invest in expanding production centers, to manufacture high-quality textile products, in order to compete in the international markets, said Governor of Puebla Rafael Moreno Valle during the inauguration of the ongoing International Textile Exhibition (EXINTEX 2014) in the state.

According to a statement issued by Puebla government, the Governor said fairs like these are an opportunity for Mexican textile firms to learn about the new trends and improve production capacities to meet with the specific needs of consumers in the international market.

At the inauguration of the 19th edition of the fair, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Industry of Mexican Government Jose Rogelio Garza said events like these are encouraged by the Government to improve competitiveness by use of new equipments and promote innovation in the textile sector of the country.

The textile fair, organized by the National Association of Textile Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Textile Industry in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala, is scheduled to run till March 14, 2014, and over 300 textile firms from the state and the country are exhibiting at the fair.

The event is organized every year with the objective of providing a platform for textile enterprises from Puebla and Tlaxcala to showcase their latest products to international buyers attending the show and establish business contacts with them.

Exhibitors are showcasing various products such as yarn, fibre, fabrics, textile finishings, textile machineries, equipments, spare parts, as well as technical textile products at the expo, which is being attended by more than 25,000 visitors.
