US-based supermarket chain Stop & Shop announced it removed from sale Lascco Cold Smoked Atlantic Salmon following a recall by Ocean Beauty Seafoods, as the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The product subject to recall includes Lascco Cold Smoked Atlantic Salmon with UPC code 7284001708, 8 oz. pack and all sell by dates.
There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of the recalled product. Customers are advised to return the product to Stop & Shop for a full refund, if they have purchased.
Consumption of products containing Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Stop & Shop operates more than 400 stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey.
