The State Council, China's cabinet, has approved setting up a joint meeting mechanism under which key regulators will hold regular or irregular meetings on economic reforms.
Under the State Council's leadership, the joint meeting mechanism will work to tackle key problems in economic reform, study fundamental reform programs, and carry out research on crucial reforms, said a statement on the government's website on Friday.
The country's top economic planner, the National Development and Reform Commission, will coordinate meetings among other 34 ministries, administrations and other organizations, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Bank of China.
