Chilean and CAP Finally Had Settled The Agreement of Punta Alcalde Power Plant

The Chilean government and CAP finally had settled the agreement of its Punta Alcalde power plant.

Under the agreement, CAP has to reduce emissions from its pellet plant at Huasco which is close to the power plant.

In fact, CAP had already invested US$35 million in the installation of identical equipment in its Huasco pellet facility in order to meet the regional environmental requirements.

CAP plans to increase its output to 18 million tons by 2015.

Endesa's power plant approval was anticipated by a lot of mining projects in the north of Chile where many iron ore plants located.
