Looking like something out of a science fiction movie, the Lotus Dome is an astonishing sight to see. Created by Studio Roosegaarde, a Dutch studio, the Lotus Dome is an exploration of the interaction between humans and technology.

At 7 feet tall this massive silver dome is housed in Sainte Madeline Church in Lille, France. Developers from the studio created this dome's hundred of metallic "petals" to interact to heat and light. When touched, the smart foils curl and reveal a glowing core. These interactive petals were created by using several thin layers of polyester.

This piece is the Studio investigation into the worlds where natural and man-made objects intersect. The more people that enter the Sainte Madeline's, the more animated and responsive the Dome becomes, creating what the Studio states to as "echno-poetry"
