Mini Countryman, Paceman: New Chilli Pack Part of Minor Update

The Mini Countryman and Paceman?will be available locally with a?number of fresh exterior and interior updates later this year.

Offered as one pack locally – but combining two packages available individually in Europe – the John Cooper Works Chilli Package will be available for Mini Countryman and Mini Paceman Cooper S and Cooper S/D models only.

Exterior additions include a John Cooper Works aerodynamics kit comprising a front apron with integrated air ducts, side sills and a rear bumper with diffuser, sports suspension, and 18-inch Twin Spoke Black Burnished light alloy wheels.

Black or white bonnet stripes are also included along with Black Checkered mirror caps, anthracite-coloured roof rails and anthracite-coloured radiator grille ribs (Mini Countryman only).

Inside the package sees the inclusion of Diagonal Track fabric in John Cooper Works Carbon Black, a John Cooper Works leather multifunction steering wheel, John Cooper Works door sill finishers and an anthracite-coloured roof liner.

Sports seats finished in Parallel Lines Light Tobacco fabric/leather for the four-door Mini Countryman and Hot Cross Carbon Black fabric/leather for the two-door Mini Paceman are also included in the package, as is the Chili Red exterior paint finish previously only available on the full-house John Cooper Works models.

A new double cup holder for the Mini Countryman will also be introduced as a standard item as part of the update, as will a new rear centre console for the Mini Paceman that includes two cup holders and a 12-volt socket.

Mini Australia says the updates take effect from July production, meaning they should start arriving in late September/early October.

The price premium for the John Cooper Works Chilli Package is yet to be announced.

Mini has also expanded its line-up of all-wheel-drive models in other markets to include a Mini Cooper Countryman ALL4 and Mini Cooper Paceman ALL4, but at this stage the local division has no plans to replicate the expansion, offering the system exclusively on the Cooper S and Cooper SD models.

Prices for the Mini Countryman and Paceman start at $34,100 and $35,900 respectively.
