Is 32-Inch Apex TV Priced at $147 Enough to Get You Into a Store on Thanksgiving Evening?

Is a 32-inch Apex-brand TV priced at $147 enough to get you into a store on Thanksgiving evening? Target hopes so, as that television is one of several doorbuster specials it will offer to those willing to shop on Thanksgiving, beginning at 9:00 p.m.

Target Black Friday Specials Include a $147 32-Inch Apex Tv

Just be aware that like most doorbuster specials, these items will be available in limited quantities, and no rain checks will be issued when they run out.

Based on the preview we saw, TVs won't be a huge focus of the retailer's Black Friday sales, which will take place in stores and on Target.com from Thursday, Nov. 22, to Saturday, Nov. 24. In addition to the 32-inch Apex-brand TV, which will be about $100 less than usual, other limited-quantity deals include the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch e-reader for $50, the Nikon L310 digital camera for $100, Beats headphones for $180, and the Sony PlayStation 3 game system (a 250MB version, with two games and a wireless controller) for $200. Apex, a brand from Apex Digital, isn't an especially well-known brand, and we haven't tested one of its sets in at least a few years.

Early shoppers on Black Friday (starting at 4:00 a.m.) will have a shot at four more doorbuster specials, including a Samsung 50-inch 1080p LCD TV with an LED backlight for $700 (we believe this is model UN50EH5000, which typically sells for about $1,000). Results of our tests of the 46-inch version of this set are in in our current TV Ratings.

Other TV sales include a 50-inch Westinghouse 1080p LCD for $349, available in limited quantities (no model number was given; when we looked at links provided by some websites, the TV shown was a 39-inch Westinghouse TV), and a 32-inch Samsung 720p LCD TV (UN32EH4003) for $248. It's now selling for $330 at Target, and $298 at Amazon.

We've already reported on Black Friday sales at Amazon, Best Buy, Sears, and Walmart, and we'll continue to monitor sales right up until the holiday itself. Remember that many retailers may offer special online-only sales as we get closer to Thanksgiving. Let us know about the best deals you see.
