Maxlite is a company based in West Caldwell, New Jersey in the United States, which designs, manufactures and sells lighting products. The company sells consumer, commercial, and industrial lighting products including Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), and holds a number of patents in fluorescent technology. Maxlite's competitors include Cree Inc., OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Philips Lumileds Lighting Company and General Electric.
MaxLite was named as a 2009 U.S. Energy Star Partner of the Year for developing a low-mercury CFL. While Maxlite's CFL bulbs are designed to minimize mercury levels, some of the company's competitors have developed bulbs with lower mercury levels.
The company partners with Toshiba for research and development of its products. Through collaboration the two companies have developed LEDs with 2700k color temperature, in order to more closely mimic the color of incandescent light bulbs.
