Applicable Standards of Compulsory Certification for Electric Tools,Standard GB4343.1-2009

Applicable standards of compulsory certification for electric tools, standard GB4343.1-2009 (hereinafter referred to as "new standard") "Requirements for Household Appliances, Electric Tools and Similar Apparatus – Part 1: Emission" has been released and will be taken effect on 1 April 2010.  In accordance with CNCA [2009] No. 58 notice "Notice on Requirements of Household Appliances and Electric Tools Implementing Standard GB4343.1-2009" (hereinafter referred to as "Notice") (http://www.cnca.gov.cn/cnca/zwxx/ggxx/234306.shtml), related requirements of standard version change are published as below:

I.       Applicants could either choose standard GB4343.1-2009 or standard GB4343.1-2003 (hereinafter referred to as "old standard") when applying for certification (if the old standard is chosen, sufficient time should be set apart to ensure that the certification could be obtained before the new standard is officially carried out). New standard will be adopted for certification and new authentication certificate will be required from 1 April 2010.

II.        For those products that have obtained the compulsory authentication certificate, holders of old authentication certificate should submit the standard version change requisition to CQC after the new standard is released and before the next follow-up inspection is carried out. There is no difference between the new EMC standard and the old standard for electric tools, therefore, old authentication certificates could be changed directly without any additional test. Transfer of old authentication certificates will be completed by 1 April 2011, if those certificates were not transferred on time, they would be suspended; If they failed to be replaced before 1 July 2011, they would be disqualified by CQC.
