A Pump Is an Integral Part of Any Domestic, Industrial or Commercial Establishment

A pump is an integral part of any domestic, industrial or commercial establishment. The smallest house pump pushes waste water from the basement to the septic tank or draws from the deep bore well to be stored on the top floor. An industrial pump will drive oil and fluid to all the hydraulic systems and machinery, either running them or stopping them. An even bigger application is the commercial or community uses like sewerage or drinking water supply. Take the case of the small automobile. Cooling of the engine and braking depend on auto pumps working smoothly. Each has its own utility, whether big or small and without which various systems would come to a grinding halt. They do not come to the forefront but work quietly and efficiently behind the scenes. Take the case of an irrigation pump. It has a vital role to play in all agricultural activities. There are some produce like paddy which require a lot of water while wheat needs comparatively less. But water is the one common factor in agriculture. The size of the pump is based on the area and the acreage of the harvest under cultivation. It will also depend on the distance of the water source from the crops. There are those that are powerful enough to cover huge areas. Groundwater is a most utilized source of agriculture. The pumps can be of two types; those which are placed above the ground to draw water from below or the submersible ones placed below the water level to thrust up the water to ground level. These are of course technicalities. The truth is that agriculture is heavily dependent on the irrigation pump. Pump applications are so numerous that it is difficult to enumerate everything here. But a segment wise analysis may be made. Take the emergency sector. Fire pumps, on fire engines or your apartment block will save lives. Pressure sewer pumps take waste water away to the main treatment control centre. Waste water management is a community responsibility and they play an important role here. Similar is the case with sump and sewage pumps in your house which distributes water to all corners. Booster pumps will thrust water to great heights and rotate it repeatedly around a particular area as in cooling plants and towers. All industries like chemicals, pharmaceutical or food packaging and processing have some use or the other of pump applications, whether it is major or minor. Source: GOARTICLES
