The GDP of Henglan Town in 2012 was RMB 7.45bn with a 14.5% growth, while the gross output value of industry and agriculture was over RMB 29bn with a 17.3% growth. For this new year, in order to create more "Green GDP" and to show new competitiveness of Beautiful Henglan, the town would push hard on new-type urban construction centering in improving quality and effectiveness of economic growth around the concepts of "intensive development", "green development", "cyclic development" and "low carbon development".
Gardening industry that improved agriculture and enriched farmers
Entitled with "The Land of Gardening", Henglan Town's gardening industry developed in a unique way and had a high popularity throughout the country. Since last year, the town had fully implemented the Development Planning of Gardening Industry in Henglan so as to adjust and optimize agricultural structure as well as to establish a multi-layered collaborative gardening industrial system gradually. Henglan also made further efforts on optimizing infrastructures in agricultural parks in town, fostering leading enterprises in gardening field and enhancing added value in gardening industry by extending industrial chain. To establish informationalized service, Henglan had additionally setup the first modern agricultural wireless park. Hengaln as well carried out rural financial services and developed household gardening industrial chain. In that case, there were 1000 mu of gardening land newly increased in Henglan for the whole of last year, making the total gardening area in town to be 21,000 mu.
Industrial transformation and upgrading aiming at high-end
Henglan pursued independent innovation for developing high-end oriented leading industries. In accordance with the actual developed state of leading industries such as lighting, hardware, electronics etc, Henglan optimized the Administrative Methods on Industrial Technology Reward Funds and worked on modern industrial system technological reform and innovation planning sticking to concept of combining overall planning and harmonious development. Henglan in addition fostered and guided the enterprises to be independently innovative and to become stronger by offering reimbursable funds, subsidized loan, financial aids, venture capital, etc. Besides, the township government also helped enterprises in corporate transformation and upgrading so that many of them had embarked on high-end developing progress.
Urban construction accelerated, CBD prototype displayed
The town fully implemented the Tertiary Industry Development Planning, accelerating the development of modern service industry. Policy Supporting Platform and Spatial Development Platform were built as key projects so as to cultivate producer services and living services industries and eventually raise the proportion and quality of development of tertiary industry. Relying on the central, southern Henglan would develop living services, while northern town would focus on producer services development relying on Zhongshan-Jiangmen High Speed. By concentrating the superior resources, Henglan would change its role from "manufacturing center" to "marketing exhibition center" step by step.
Green GDP: the sustainable competitiveness
In the development process, Henglan always insisted in sound and fast concept and gave priority to Green Development, which meant Henglan was willing to slow down the pace of development a bit for a higher quality. The town adhered to Green Development strategy to promote synchronized planning, synchronized propelling and synchronized improving of ecological construction and economic construction, therefore to optimize the ecological environment.
