Let's Begin with Jib Cranes First

To clarify the doubts if you have any, we will be discussing all these three types of cranes one by one. Let's begin with jib cranes first.

Jib Cranes

The structure of jib crane is really very easy to picturize. In it, there is a horizontal beam that is fixed at a specific height from the ground. Then, a movable hoist is attached with it. This hoist keeps hanging downwards and whenever the weight is required to be lifted, the hoist is released, pulley is attached with the load and the same is then lifted and moved to the desired location. The mode of operation of this type of crane can be manual or fully automatic as per the requirements of the client.

Bridge Crane

People commonly think of bridge crane and overhead crane to be the same. But, in reality there is a slight difference, which only the experts can detect. For your information, bridge crane is used to lift loads that are lighter than the ones lifted and shifted by overhead cranes. For it, two vertical poles are set up within a factory. And, at their maximum height from the ground, horizontal pole is attached from edge of one vertical pole to the other. This way, a bridge like mechanism is established. Furthermore, a pulley aka hoist is fitted on the horizontal pole. From a specific distance, an operator can command the hoist to lift, load and unload the object that is to be carried from point A to point B.

Overhead Crane

Overhead cranes are the ones that have the same structure as that of a bridge crane. For it, a bridge of horizontal and vertical poles is established like the way it is done for bridge cranes. But, the distance between the vertical poles in overhead cranes is quite large. These are perfect for larger industries, in which there is excessive space. Once set, it can work as it is and can lift tons of weight for several years.

Conclusion

Now, if you are looking forward to buying any one out of these cranes for your factory, then let me help you in making a profitable decision. If lighter object, which can be packed in cartons, are manufactured in your factory, then buying jib crane will be alright. And, if heavy loads such as the ones in automobile factory are made in your firm, then go for bridge cranes. Otherwise, if heavy machinery of tons of weight is to be lifted and shifted within your company, then overhead crane would be the best pick.

I hope you will properly understand the difference between these three types of cranes and invest your money in the right kind of lifting machine.
