History
Hankook Tyres became Korea's first tyre manufacturer when they began operations in 1941. Since then, they have become one of the world's leading tyre producers, with technical centres, manufacturing operations and distributions centres in Korea, China, Hungary, Germany, the USA and the Netherlands. In 2006, Hankook Tyres became the world's 7th largest tyre manufacturer.
Hankook Tyres has won many prestigious awards. These have included the 10 Best Collaborative Companies Award from FAW-Volkswagen in 2006, and Germany's iF Design Award in 2009 and 2012. Additionally, Hankook received the highest mark possible (Very Recommendable) in the ADAC Test in 2007 and 2009.
Hankook Tyre continues to expand its operations, rolling out the second phase of its plant in Hungary in 2009.
