“Kiki very quickly saw beyond their outward appearances. She saw busts. People. Hollow figures. She moved closer, wanting to hoist herself up to the ceiling, to caress them one by one as if stroking a face, to open them up, spread them out, study the secrets of their movement and their relationship with light. With what should she fill these empty shells?” excerpt from Saint-Louis.

Ideas blossomed and the designs for lighting began to form. Using crystal, a Japanese paper screen and a custom mechanisms that allow for the table lamp to open, viewers were allowed to see inside the light. The birth of this lighting designer prompted the name of this collection, the collection is called “Matrice”, French for “matrix”.
