Toyota Motor Sales(TSA)has unveiled the new RAV4 Electric Vehicle(EV),powered by Tesla's battery and electric powertrain,at the Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles,US.
The front wheel drive RAV4 EV offers two different drive modes which include Sport and Normal.
In Sport mode,the EV will achieve 0-60mph in 7 seconds and has a maximum speed of 100mph,while in normal mode it will achieve 0-60 mph in 8.6 seconds with a maximum speed of 85 mph.
According to the company,the electric powertrain will deliver a maximum output of about 154hp(115kW)at 2,800 rpm in both the modes.
The electric SUV has a driving range of about 100 miles and the battery can be charged in six hours using a 240V/40A charger.
Toyota said that the RAV4 EV will go on sale this summer in the US at a price of$49,800.
