Recycled advertising banners began this 3D lighting project from SD Works. 'Living Pixels' uses specially cut materials to create intricate volumes of light and texture. The designers Kay Chan Wan Ki, Match Chen Siu Wa, and Catherine Suen Ka Hei strived to make each light shade original. Both individuality and specifically were considered for each lighting design and their customized stands.

Much time and thought went into choosing the right banners, sorting and matching colors, and hand sewing each patch, all in an effort to build the perfect irregular shape. When off, the light shades appear to be white and pale because the banners are printed on one side only.?But watch out, with just the flick of a switch the plain appearance radically changes into a colorful fixture full of light, shadow and riveting colors.
