There Are Basically Three Types of Cylinders and Containers Used

A dairy unit is a big business enterprise, which cannot meet its daily functions without its milk storage equipment. Milk storage equipment is used extensively to store large amounts of milk for processing and managing the intermediate products. All types of milk storage equipment are made of the highest quality raw materials in order to make the storage as effective and convenient as possible.

Every dairy plant has equipment such as cylinders and tanks to store a large amount of milk. These cylinders and tanks have a lot of inlets and outlets, which are easy to be managed by professionals during pasteurization and other purification processes. These are one of the strongest containers, which can preserve a large amount of milk and other liquid. These containers are especially designed to suit the process of treating milk and milk production in the unit. Most milk storage equipment is highly complex and can only be elaborated effectively by a chemical engineer.

Types of Milk Storage Tanks

The milk storage tanks are used excessively to bring down temperature of milk during any procedure whenever necessary. For example, for pasteurization, milk's temperature is brought down immediately and then immediately brought up to a boil. If the same process is applied in a normal tank, then the wall may collapse due to such drastic changes in pressure in such a short time. The walls need to have a proper layer of insulation and also be thick enough to withstand the pressure changes and the variable temperatures for various treatment processes.

There are basically three types of Cylinders and containers used:

? Open type cylindrical tank: These types of tanks can be cleaned very easily as they are quite wide and have enough space. These apparatus have cooling equipment at their bottoms. Open cylinders are used for centrifugal processes for milk. These are highly useful for the mixing processes. They can be used during the curding process also.

? Open type Semi Cylindrical Tanks: These are useful when cheese or butter has to be separated from the residue. They are generally for sieving the solid material from the liquid portion. These are generally used when the process is semi automatic or when manual supervision is involved with the automatic process.

? Closed Type Round Tanks: They are used for heating and cooling process when milk has to be treated in vacuum. They are locked and there are controlled or valve inlets and outlets. They pack the liquid inside the container and there is no source of escape.

Although there are many other types of tanks available, aforementioned types of tanks are very common in dairy industries. These are generally used in boilers or other paraphernalia. The whole equipment is collaborated and used in a collective manner. They are connected through various inlets and outlets. The whole process is scientific and the apparatus are accordingly created by chemical engineers.
