Since 1997 the Antique Fan Collectors Association (AFCA) has displayed (give or take) 450 antique fans, with some dating as far back as the early 1880’s. A relocation took place in 2008, and the Zionsville based fan design and manufacturing company Fanimation moved the museum into their headquarters in Zionsville, Indiana. The museum’s antique fans are on loan via the members of the Antique Fan Collectors Association for all interested parties to stop by and ogle a piece of history.

The 450 antique ceiling and desk fans come from over 140 manufactures, with the oldest electric desk fan dating as early as 1890. The museum’s oldest non-electric fans (i.e. fans that are steam, belt & pulley or water powered) date back to 1880. This cultural rich museum is the world’s only dedicated antique ceiling and desk fan museum that is open to the general public.
