For three nights in the beauiftul city of Almaty,Kazakhstan architectural projections illuminated their city’s core building. The projections celebrated the Asian Winter Games, a multi-sport event that is held every four years for members of the Olympic Council of Asia.

This type of architectural projections on the exterior of building in called architectural projection mapping. Architectural projection mapping is the projection of 3D motion graphics that are displayed on the surface of a building or structure. This projection technique allows for a surreal reality to envelope the exterior of buildings with animated forms. They call it mapping because prior to the event, the projections are carefully mapped to fit the building’s dimensional specifications.

This uplifting event was designed and implemented by seeper, an Arts and Technology studio based in East London. Founded in 1998, seeper works worldwide using technology for art expressed in forms of advertising, entertainment, education and live events.

The three nights of midnight projections in the middle of winter, did not deter spectators from seeper’s stunning visuals and awesome soundtracks.
