Social entertainment company, We R Interactive, has today announced that its popular music game, LYROKE, is now available to play on mobile.
The LYROKE app is storming the charts globally, already ranking as the number two iOS music game application in the USA and number one in the UK and six other European markets, since going live in the Apple App Store.
LYROKE is a first-of-its kind music game that streams full-length official music videos from some of the world’s biggest artists as an interactive gaming mechanic, challenging the user to guess the lyrics against the clock.
It transforms music consumption by offering music fans a new, interactive experience where they can play along with their favourite artists’ tracks and challenge friends to see who knows their music best. For the music industry, LYROKE also offers a unique commercial opportunity, delivering new incremental revenue.
Through global deals with Universal Music UK, Sony, and EMI Music, LYROKE features chart-topping music videos from global talent such as Amy Winehouse, Calvin Harris, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, LMFAO, No Doubt, One Republic, The Saturdays, Timbaland, and more. LYROKE has already driven more than one million music video plays since its launch last year.
Over the Christmas period LYROKE was also the world’s top emerging Facebook game, bringing in more than 40,000 new monthly active users to w/e 28 December 2012.
"Great ideas are simple ones and big ideas need inspiration - LYROKE is exactly what the music industry has been looking for. The platform offers fans around the world a new, immersive way to consume and interact with music and share their passion, creating deep levels of engagement with artists and delivering new commercial opportunities. We are delighted to have secured the full support of the copyright owners,”said Geoff Heath, OBE, a music and games industry legend who sold the rights to the Beatles catalogue to Michael Jackson, and advisor to We R Interactive.
The mobile app comes as part of an international cross-platform roll out for LYROKE. It is available to play at lyroke.com, apps.facebook.com/lyrokegame and now via the Apple App Store, meaning music fans are able to access the game at anytime, anywhere, via their connected device.
Further mobile platform availability, including an app for Android, and global music industry partnerships will be announced in the near future.
